Issue #287 -
The X-Men arrive as Bishop and his crew are finishing off the last of the criminals from the future.
Unfortunately, his men are killed and events see Bishop pass out.
We get a glimpse of what happened before Bishop and his men arrived in their past.
Bishop wakes to find himself surrounded by the X-Men and Xavier.
After a conversation, the Professor exclaims the team has a new member!

Why swimsuit magazines were part of super-hero comics, I don’t understand.
I mean, it’s bad enough that most of the women’s costumes get so shredded they resemble a two-piece every other issue!

Jean tells Warren how it is.
He’s responsible for his actions. He can blame Apocalypse for taking one night away from him. The rest of his life is his own…
Mikhail’s madness envelopes the Morlocks and he floods the tunnels!
That was a sad phone call Peter had to make.
Bishop reassures Storm she will get her life back together, with her friend’s love.

Oh my goodness. Forge said he’d give Ororo time to answer but then when she hesitates, he can’t handle it and decides to be an armchair psych and tells Ororo why she ‘won’t let herself’ have a normal life.
And she was going to say yes!!
To use her childhood trauma against her is beyond cruel.
There’s also something going on with Peter’s brother Mikhail.
I skipped issues #291 and 292.

At least Forge admitted why he was being a jerk. Because he was hurt that Storm was distant.
He wants her to take a chance on herself… Forge asks Storm to marry him!
Mystique tries ‘helping’ Warren, who can’t stand the sight of who he once was.
And Hiro’s warning is ill-worded and ill-timed!

Also this art seemed very different, comparing it to the last issue.
In this issue, Bishop learns a very hard lesson. One that goes against what he’d been taught his whole life, in his own time.
But this is not his time. And he recognises he has much to learn.

Xavier believes Bishop will learn fact from fiction.
The new teammate is introduced to the others. He calls Jubilee ‘the last X-Men’.
Then he recognises Gambit….
Bishop believes Gambit will betray the X-Men. Then demands Xavier to mind scan him!
Everyone knows Gambit is loyal.
After a fight (of course), the next plot opens with Gambit’s wife!

There was no Bishop and his crew.
The end sees Peter resuscitating his brother and telling him of their sister.

After killing more future mutant crooks, the humans now reckon that the X-Men - having recognised the giant ‘X’ on their belts - will eventually turn on them and they should kill them first.
Bishop says they must use this opportunity to never let their past come to pass!
