Mark is at once a highly cine-literate critic with honest, medium-loving, though sometimes bewildering, opinions and a very funny writer. His books are slowly becoming a refuge for my movie addled brain that doesn't know which 'reviewer' or 'critic' to turn to in a world where film criticism is either considered easy or plain hogwash. Neither is true. And I'm glad there's someone who gives a shit.
