God is pleased when we obey. Jesus also feels joy when the sick come to Him for help. He is not impatient or frustrated when we come for fresh forgiveness. “He gets more joy than we do when we come to Him for help and mercy.” “He is not drained by our coming to Him; His heart is filled all the more…” We should not fail to come boldly. Heb12:2 the joy set before Him is the joy of seeing believers forgiven.

Jesus is merciful. This is not at-odds with His wrath. Understanding the just wrath of Christ gives us deeper understanding of His mercy.

Really enjoyed the emphasis that one’s heart is not just dictated by emotion. Rather, it is “the center of who we are” and it “defines and directs us.” So for Christ to say, “I am gentle and lowly in heart,” is to reveal His central character.
