got to say, this reading experience is greatly improved by ed glinert who did the notes of this compilation. thanks to him, i get to enjoy paragraphs like the 1 i just read:

being a massive fan of CBS' Elementary and finally coming around to reading the Sherlock Holmes stories is definitely very funny because I am instead experiencing the source material like it's just lore for the former. like these stories are just a means for me to better enjoy CBS' Elementary, instead of foundational literature for the Mystery genre as a whole. whoops? but I'm really enjoying myself!
