No way that’s valancourt. Thoughts so far, since I picked it up cos of Jane Austen’s bookshelf, and because I’m a self proclaimed gothic lover: it is engaging, and very descriptive, and good mood setting! I mean it’s probably not my fav pick cos it’s not really for a modern audience but I think this Ann Radcliffe lady is legit as hell!

Bruh I don’t think Victorian (tho this one is before) literature by female authors can ever be for me why are these authors so intent on torturing their female heroines 😵💫 also, going through a death in the family right now and it makes me extra sad for Emily. Although we have the same crazy bitch of an aunt in our family -_-
