She doesn't specify what her past racist actions were nor what steps she took to become less racist, but this book is sooo pandering to white people who want to be "involved" have a sprinkle of black friends but can barely muster the bare minimum. They say stuff "I hear you" or "I understand where you're coming from" but like do you?

I'm 3% in, the author has already managed center their white guilt within the framework of "understanding" racism. She mentions her black friend but kind of co-ops her experience as a teachable moment towards non allies,while expecting her flowers because she named dropped James Baldwin and Dubois. The title should have been "the burden of living and overcoming white guilt," It's not looking good, y'all
