First time two POV characters really cross paths and we're just going to ignore it and let Kaladin sink back into grumbling. Ok then, Sanderson. You're a meany-head.

These sorts of statements pretty much exist to be made false by future story development.

Interludes broaden the story. They don't make it any more pleasant, but they do broaden it.
