So a ton has happened. I really am enjoying the tight friendship between Gwen, Emerie, and Nesta. Nesta has some moments but she’s actually becoming more open and feeling her emotions instead of shoving them down until only anger erupts. Of course we learn that her and Cassian were mates - called that - and Nesta did not react well. Now they’ve been forced into the Blood Rite. Yikes.

Nesta is FINALLY getting nicer! I think it's for two reasons. One is that she's made friends - probably for the first time in her life - with Gwen and Emerie. She won't be mean to them because of how much horror they've endured and what do you know, she finds out friends is a nice thing to have. The second is Cassian's training is giving her something she's never ever had - control. This is new for her too.

Here is what confuses me. Cassian wants Nesta. I can’t see why. It’s certainly not her sparkling personality. Is she his mate? If so, poor man. Also her whole woe is me thing is so tiring. Compared to others, her “trauma” is not that big. Why is she so ridiculous about it? Also does she have some major inferiority thing with Feyre or something?
