Here's a thought: If there are angry lizard-people in town who want to hurt you...maybe don't go into town every day?

So far it's just meh. The worldbuilding is creative, but I don't really know where the story is going. It's a lot of information and not my style.

I feel like a lot has happened in 138 pages, but also that not that much has happened.

Finally decided to pick up this classic! Been a while since I've read middle-grade.

So far, my favorite part is zibzy. The boys in PE at my school would have a FIELD DAY with that. We Played, We Bled, We Swept is a fire book title in the footnotes.

Keira Mueller @Cassie, thank you!!

Margaret Elisabeth The first book is just okay, but the rest of the series gets way better!!!

ChildOfGod💜🙌🏽 (for God I live and for God I die) ~ in my Christian pop era I felt a similar way reading this. I didn’t really enjoy it and I felt like I had to push thru at times to finish.

Noëlle ♡ (soldier of the Most High) Not a whole lot happens in the first book, but the pacing gets a lot better with book two
