The scene between Miles and Theo in the hospital. 😭 So moving. I really like what she’s done with Miles’ character.

The end of chapter 13 was lovely and unexpected. A lovely scene between elderly Theo and struggling, middle-aged Hal and Theo thinking he said a couplet in his head but he said it out loud about the importance of love and duty. Then Theo’s vision of The Keep continuing in the future with a little boy yet unknown.
