I had to double check this because at the time of this book being written neither Mallory nor Irvine had been found but I remember that in Into Thin Air Mallory's body had been found and (this is quite gross fyi) they found Irvine recently, but not really. Mallory was found in 1999 and was buried where he lay. A National geographic film team found a foot with a sock on with the label "A.C. Irvine" in 2025, that's it.
