Brilliant, has gone through every one of Scorsese’s feature films since “Who’s that Knocking at my Door”. It briefly mentions his shorts like the big shave. I am currently on the chapter about “New York Stories”. The structure is very good also, he provides his review of the film when he first watched it then presents interviews/more in depth analysis of what scorsese was going for.

Heavily emphasizes the struggles he had in getting Raging Bull, King of Comedy, and Last Temptation of the Christ actually produced.
Also emphasis on how they kind of shifted away from the traditional biblical films when crafting the story and dialogue for the film.

On his interview at the university. He talks a lot about the influences his mother and father played and how he actually knew Harvey Keitel and the struggles at first. Very nice change of pacing/story in the book.

I’m not the biggest fan of “The Age of Innocence” but Ebert’s explanation of it was really good and how all of scorseses’ themes are tied into it. It spent most of the time talking about “Casino”, I love that film its a true work of art and just hearing how it was filmed was fascinating. I am on part 4 of the book now.
