Girlie is constantly angry, valid response but tiring. The Starmaker struggled during his time but his empathy is lacking man.

I remember reading a review where the person said that Aurora was poorly written as she didn't react well to the Starmaker. For me, Aurora finds comfort in the stories but they are just stories. The actual scenario is the loss of agency which she does for the people she cares for.
