He could barely hold back a smirk as she sighed softly," (141) two smirks within two pages, I spoke too soon about the editing. Maybe this is just a regional usage I'm not familiar with? Or a regional meaning for smirk that doesn't mean...smirk?

(216) I am glad I looked up what a wedding halo headpiece was because, until then, I was picturing a Christmas pageant angel type of halo, which seemed...not right for a wedding?
