Ok, I love Nick’s writing and the story is very intriguing but can we stop with the animal torture now?
I’m not even finished with the book and I can count 12 scenes where animals are tortured and/or killed. Some of the scenes have entire groups of animals and I’m counting all of the insect torture as 1

That part bothered me too.

I had the skip the scene with the kitten. We get that the kid is a psycho - we don’t need 8 scenes of him torturing animals to figure that out
