This has been an exceptionally enjoyable read; I wish it was longer. The first part of the story was fast-paced and very successful in catching my interest, the second part was a bit more frustrating because of some “minor” miscommunications (quickly solved).

I happen to consider the ending abrupt and the epilogue (more than) a dash unsatisfactory. Still, it is a very good story with some awkward quirks.

J.C. Plummer I'm so glad to hear your positive opinion of this one. I've borrowed it through KU, but I haven't started it yet. This author is a bit hit-or-miss for me, but I've been reading some positive things about this one. It's a trope I like (D and/or E are widowed).

Lit Reader The story had some glaring problems (a child that speaks/communicates in a manner that sometimes reads like a grown-up, and some weird inuendo that everyone shares-in about marital duties which was completely inappropriate, among other things), and yet the main story was still gripping for me :)

The pace was quick and adequate, the emotional arcs were believable (even if I didn’t “approve” some parts of the logic by which some characters acted/reacted).

I liked the story, I enjoyed reading it, and I think the tale is unique enough for me to be certain I will remember it long after.
