Read. Great writing. A style that I like. A very entwining story. Megs mother leaves her, she’s in an orphanage and is mistreated, is adopted by a family with a nice father but lots of drama.
Francis and Birdie are sisters from a poor family. Frances marries rich, Birdie goes to ask for money. Her husband family is losing everything. They try to find ways to make money and a whole lot of shenanigans ensue.

Mrs. Garnett hates Meg because Charlie the mother had an affair with Mrs. Garnet husband. Girl in orphanage is put into the old cringe Office to spend her days and the head of the orphanage who doesn’t like children massage her head. Then Birdie comes to the orphanage to volunteer and paint the office.
Birdie also comes from home to see her sister to borrow money from her. The sister’s husband leaves her.
