Raising a child with excessively high standards is a form of abuse and emotional neglect btw. Javier talking like Obi-wan Kenobi doesn't stop him being a hoooorible parent. Reid does a lot of early scenes where Javier prompts Carrie with questions and she replies in an extreme way to imply she's the one being too ambitious, but I'm unconvinced. Fuck Javier.
