Male-centred ass book. How the fuck did this shit get the hype it got?

I'm reading this out of rage and curiosity, to be honest.
I'm sick of being told what Jude is. She's strong, deadly, a badass... the image does not conjure itself by her words, so the author has every single character tell you that, in case you forget.
I can only imagine Jude staring into a mirror going "I'm strong, I'm scary" lol
That's how it feels reading her monologues.

At this point, I don't mind that Jude is unlikable; I just really wish she wasn't this annoying.
Yes girl, tell us for the hundredth time how he just hates you so, so much and then say some ominous shit that makes no fucking sense but is poetic, I guess

I hate how the author needs to remind us of how cruel Cardan is, so she has Jude be stupid as hell and accuse everyone who tries to hurt her of being pawns to Cardan, when they fucking tell her they are not. They can't lie.
This just makes the story feel so flat. No character is truly important because for Jude, the only other person with free will in this fucking book is Cardan. Always Cardan, Cardan, Cardan. Girl.

Jude's badass main character syndrome attacks again; she makes extremely dumb choices that do not make sense in the context of the book, and then at least she pays for them
I might actually like Cardan, but only because I dislike her so much
Also, I'm tired of this play-pretend where we have to hear Jude thinking Cardan did something wrong when it's very obvious he did not, because this is a clichê ass romance book

I wish the author would stop describing every single item of clothing like a Wattpad teenager

We get a (sexual) humiliation scene of the main character, where her love interest partakes and enjoys seeing her suffer, and then immediately, in the most rushed and sloppy way possible, we get a chapter where he's spanked, lol
The author is trying her best not to let us form too bad an opinion of him, so she immediately reveals his "sad back story"
I am disappointed; this cannot be the book everyone raves about.

Everything is painfully clichê, very uninspiring relationship-wise...
