The story covers the life of a woman named Poe, whose mother was brutally murdered in front of her when she was a kid. She is now a famous crime podcast host where she invites people who committed some kind of crime to confess to what they’ve done.

One day, she gets a call from somebody who claims to have been the person that killed her mother. However, Poe does not believe this because she thinks that she killed the person who murdered her mother in New York when she was much younger. She has an executive producer named Kip, and they’re also boyfriend and girlfriend. Her father is still alive in this book.

Basically, what happens is this particular person who claims to have killed pose? Mother says that unless Poe lets him on her podcast, that he’s gonna come and kill her pretty much. Because she feels the pressure to do this podcast episode, especially because that guy said that he knows that she killed someone in New York, she has them on the podcast. It’s two episodes and he’s the one that’s leading it. Basically, he has her admit that she killed that guy in New York, who she thinks murdered her mom. It turns out that her mom was stabbed to death while she was having an affair with some guy. The guy after he had sex with her ended up, stabbing her to death. The mom cheated on the dad only in response to the dad cheating on the ❤️Mom❤️.

Basically, the stalker guy ends up following Poe all around, including to the woods where her and her father had gotten a way to try to escape from him. It turns out that he had a camera on top of her house. The murderer guy ends up, abducting her executive producer and boyfriend, and threatening his life, basically saying that if Poe doesn’t do this podcast episode, then he’s gonna kill the boyfriend. Basically what ends up happening after this abduction is that Poe agrees to do the episode, and she does admit that she killed the man in New York that killed her mother. She ends up discovering that the stalker and her boyfriend were in an abandoned house down the street from where she lives. So Poe takes a bat and a hatchet over to that abandoned home. She comes face-to-face with the stalker and her boyfriend, who was stabbed by the stalker. The stalker ends up admitting to that the person she killed in New York was his brother. Paul had actually murdered his brother by putting rat poison inside of the appetizers she had made when they were on their second date. She lowered him to this date by putting her mother’s photo as her dating profile photograph.

The stalker guy then pulls out a gun and basically her father storms into the abandoned house with all of them at that point and tackles the stalker. He ends up taking a bat to his chest and his knee, so he’s like compromised. Poe ends up, shooting him to death instead of her dad, because she said that she had already killed somebody so she was basically used to it. The last scenes are her in prison serving a 14 month sentence for manslaughter. Her and Kip are still together.
