*Spoilers in comments* this book was so annoying. The main character was absolutely insufferable, and it was almost like she only had one singular brain cell. While the ending was overall a surprise, so many of the details were ridiculous. And the author put some obvious clues, indicating who the actual bad guys were. Would not recommend.

*Spoilers in comments* an addictive read, with a very interesting and unique plot line. There was quite a large volume of characters which made it hard to follow at times. The ending was not very predictable, but still the plot twist wasn’t very impressive. Overall would recommend.

*Spoilers in comments* the premise and purpose behind the book is incredibly important, in the face of funding cuts for libraries and people wanting to censor which books are available. However, the story itself was insanely irritating, and I couldn’t count on two hands how many times I rolled my eyes. I wasn’t expecting this from a Kate Quinn, but I was thoroughly disappointed would not recommend.

*Spoilers in comments* overall was a decent thriller, with some plot twist at the end. There were a lot of aspects of the plot line that did not make sense, or felt like unnecessary complications. The short length was amazing. Overall may recommend.

*Spoilers in comments* this was a largely non-fiction story with fictional elements about the development of Barbie, and the blowup of Mattel as a toy company. I found the book kind of slow and boring, which is why I did not rate it super well. Overall may not recommend depending on if somebody wants to learn about how the Barbie doll came to life.
