Datura’s Reviews > Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil > Status Update

Most interesting aspects of this are given so little time to breathe!! Everything compelling buried under pages and pages of all 3 protagonists going through the exact same thing over and over and

I'm too used to anne rice's prose for this to feel anything but bland in comparison, the amount of negative reviews I saw calling this overly flowery?? like is the only other book you've read the phone book..? 😭

Would be really cool if this book set in 1500s Spain did anything to establish its setting but whateverrrr there's vampires now that's nice

Already a little on the nose for my taste but I'm saving judgement until I get to the vampirism!! Mainly a distraction from doomscrolling though
