Just one of those things where the main character is politics adjacent as a former First Lady but so far is decidedly apolitical... which I feel like is still a choice that says something, especially if she's starting a bookshop in Florida's Gulf Coast. I'm gonna finish but I don't think I'll continue with the rest of Skeleton Key.

Realllll tempted to DNF but I'm already 3/4 of the way through so I'm going to finish. I just can't get over my space time issues (a former First Lady but the Obama administration is referenced so was the Hudson admin 2016-2020? Couldn't be in a second term otherwise her bestie Second Lady would currently be the First and it would be very scandalous for her to leave a prez and move to a Florida beach house.)
