I am about 1/3 finished reading the book. I skipped ahead a couple of chapters and finished reading the section on men and women's relationships. Reimers acknowledges that covenant communities provide answers to some of the problems society faces today (such as gender confusion), but fails to explain how these problems can be adequately addressed (at least so far).

I just finished reading chapter 1, "The Beginnings". Reimers states that covenant communities were an outgrowth of early Catholic charismatic prayer groups, a perceived next step in Christian growth and development by prayer group participants. Reimers also highlights some internal conflicts some of these groups experienced, as well as squabbles among competing covenant communities.
