So things are spicy. They are able to kill the sister giantesses with Jack after an eventful time before Gerriord walks in. They play it off making him think they’re drunk and try to reason with him to get the hammer back to Thor. He makes them play catch with him and Magnus’s plan works well as it traps Gerriord. However, even though they’ve saved Gunilla she plans on taking them back as prisoners to Valhalla

Magnus encounters Loki in a dream and hears about him killing Balder as well as mentions of Thor. Then he’s woken by Otis, and Magnus learns more about Hearth’s tough life with his parents and magic journey when waking him and Sam up. Then Otis takes them to see Thor since that’s what he was supposed to do. Thor was in trouble so Magnus had to use Jack to stop the giantess. This saved Thor and he was amazed

So Blitzen wins the craft making contest and gets the earrings from Junior. He also wants to find out where Fenris Wolf is but no answers are told. Then trouble comes as it is revealed that Sam created the distraction during the contest as she shapeshifted. This leads to a chase and Magnus is defended by his sword, “Jack” who also talks now. They stop the mob and escape but they come back for more at the end

Blitz takes Magnus to Nidavellir. They go see Nabbi, before Blitz is challenged by Junior to a craftsmanship contest. Seems harmless but the thing is it Blitz loses he’ll be embarrassed and won’t be able to continue the quest with Magnus and the gang. At the end of the chapter Hearth and Sam make it out the world tree to reunite with Blitz and Magnus.

So they go through Yggdrasil(the World Tree) and Magnus and Blitz break up with Sam and Hearth. They go in one world and encounter Freya. She’s revealed to be Magnus’s aunt and Blitz’s mother. She knows they’re on a quest and a lot about Magnus. So they’re being sent on a mission where they must collect earrings to return to Freya. They’re supposed to match her necklace and somehow prepare for Ragnarok

So, they’re able to stop the World Serpent and Ran appears. She’s not happy they’ve summoned the Serpent and they have to reason with her to make her give up the sword and apple. Ran is not happy with Magnus and takes shots at Sam about her Valkyrie situation and being Loki’s daughter. They split and Magnus finds out more stuff from Big Boy. They’ll be rivals soon then he reunited with Hearth and Blitz.

So what happens is an Eagle/pigeon named “Big Boy” took Magnus on an adventure and ended up telling him how he could possibly find the sword. Ran the goddess has it so to get it he must go fishing with Harald to get her attention and an apple for Big Boy. Sam reveals she’s going to have an arranged marriage, and they have an eventful time fishing and what they catch is the massive World Serpent.

So they run into Sam as they’re all looking for the sword. She already had hurt Hearth and they had enough of her. Then Mimir/Capo reveals the plans that Surt is looking for the sword to free Fergus and start Ragnarok/doomsday. So it’s up to Magnus and his group to find the sword first and stop Surt for the time being

Long break from reading but picking it back up, Magnus is able to escape Valhalla with Blitz and Hearth. He finds out they were called by the Capo to protect him and acted homeless to befriend him. Now the mission is for Magnus to get the sword back

Gunilla gives Magnus a tour but she also continues to take shots at Sam and Loki. She feels like Sam brought in Magnus to cause trouble since she was the child of Loki. She feels like Sam worked with Hearthstone and Blitzen to get him to Valhalla. Also afterwards Magnus encounters Hearthstone and Blitzen and they’re going to search for the sword despite Gunilla saying otherwise.
