she wrote this book mostly chronologically, so the first half was indeed relatable to young female physicians with fascinating anecdotes about residency. then as it progressed i simply felt like she just wanted to talk about herself + personal life. if it was advertised as a memoir i wouldve just avoided it but instead she implies this is advice for future doctors when it really shouldve j been told to her therapist

talking more about this bc she addresses the racism she witnessed in the medical field (ex. the weird need doctors feel to talk about patients by their race as if it is a direct cause of their disease) and then proceeds to NOT TAKE HER OWN LESSONS and refer to patients by their race ONLY for the rest of the book. there were j so many instances of similar behavior it pmo. i dont relate to white women
