One of the best things about being alive is having the opportunity to participate in the story of civilisation. It's one reason why I'm so insatiably curious: there's just so much to learn about what it means for me to be alive, in general as well as in my unique historical moment. Urban planning is part of that story, and it's evolving at unprecedented speed. Its scale in China is mindboggling, its ethics obscene!
