The writing in this books confuses me. One minute it feels so childlike, and the next the author is pulling out "the sacred litanies in sonorous plainchant" and "her acquiescence secretly delighted her". 🤔

Bird Woman, Eefa and Scogs as names on top of the other nonsense words... I do think I am too old to enjoy this

Maybe this is going to get better after the first chapter, but the made-up words are a bit jarring. Jinxy! Stop being such a flibbertigibbet!
