It was one of those great June days when the sky is completely blue and the sun is shining but it isn't so hot that you wish you were on the beach instead. Everyone was happy. I still felt like I was floating, the Star Wars hero music in my head. I walked with Summer and Jack, and we just couldn't stop cracking up. We were in that giggly kind of mood where all someone has to do is look at you and you start laughing.

One should be kinder than needed.” I can’t stop crying omg. Augusts relationship with Miranda, the other kids warming up to him, his new puppy, HIS STANDING OVATION, his Star Wars references 😭😭😭

“And I wondered how it would feel to be in heaven someday and not have my face matter anymore. Just like it never, ever mattered to Daisy.” NOOOOO 😩😩😩

Omg the whole daisy chapter was so so sad. I completely saw it coming but it was just horrible. I can’t stop crying. I can NEVER let Veronica read this. It’s like this book was perfectly crafted to kill her.

Why is all of Justin’s stuff in lowercase??

I HATE Julian’s mom so much. The most infuriating part about her character is that she feels so real. I can’t believe some people can be so narrow minded and self centred. And to say that August shouldn’t be allowed to attend the school… Also it’s so interesting to see the difference between the conversations the adults are having (+Jacks email his parents definitely helped write) vs jacks emails to August

Also Vias whole thing with her friends is making me feel so bad for her. The way she describes school is pretty similar to how I see it though.

"I've thought about this a lot," said the second mummy, sounding serious, "and I really think... if I looked like him, seriously, I think that I'd kill myself." Omg… JACK WILL?! This is honestly so heartbreaking. I knew those jokes he was making weren’t entirely untrue! “He just kinda follows me around everywhere” Oh August…

This book is giving me all the back to school vibes omg 😭😭 Everything August is doing, we did to prepare for grade seven. Not to mention his name is literally AUGUST. This book is really perfect for this time. I hate Julian.
