Chapter 1 - “The necessary and the ephemeral,” arguing that all of political decision-making and freedom has been replaced by responding to what is seen as necessary and to be obsession with the now. I would say that few in US politics believe they have free will, or want it, and certain people know they do and here we are!

Slowly co-reading my favorite author in French and English translation. If all one has is the English fine, but there are a lot of issues with the translation.
