Honestly even with how drawn out it is, having just finished chapter 37 I have to say this book is well written and keeps catching me off guard. It’s lowkey depressing tho because things just keep getting worse without an end in sight and there’s not many characters left to root for 😭

I lied on my previous percent update which just goes to show how miserably long this book is, didn't even realize it was Dan Simmons until like 33% in which explains a lot of my complaints about this book. Like why tf are we talking about Darwin and Charles Babbage in this chapter
