Copper's mother told him a story about when she was younger, trying to climb a stone staircase behind an old woman. She had the intention to help, but she hesitated again and again. But he sniffed out the ideas, knowing that would make him a lying coward. Looking at the ceiling from his bed, he has been examining his own thoughts and actions carefully and closely.
