So far it's definitely a lot worse than the first book. The main two have been heavily flanderized, and while their looney tunes-esque antics are quite humourous, I have a few problems. Compared to the last book, where these are 2 of the most powerful and intelligent Necrons, they are ridiculously incompetent. Next, their rivalry just isn't the same. They almost immediately turned into a bickering couple.
