What people are calling angsty about it this book is just two people who are cowardly and refusing to communicate how they feel. It just feels lazy and contrived. The beating around the bush and talking around the issue is giving unserious. And neither of these two are children.

Everything about how Amelia tries to get back in Jo’s good graces feels manipulative. Telling her about past trauma, acting a victim who couldn’t control herself during the encounters in satin. This is age-gap. Amelia is at least a generation older than Jo, given that Jo dated Amelia’s son. This behavior reeks of using emotional manipulation to achieve one’s aims. This is an awful character! I’m grossed out

What Amelia/ Lia did was quite manipulative and gross. She should have taken that shit to the grave instead of repeating it and then confessing like the dumbass as she is. This is a gross betrayal of trust. I don’t think Tereze will handle this issue with the seriousness it requires. Sigh.
