Kuang kind of lost me when she used June, the Evil White Woman character to criticize Athena Liu, a stand-in novelist for Kuang, in an attempt to makes the real-life critics who have spoken against Kuang looking like a bunch of racists and jealous losers.

How egoistic and full of yourself anyone has to be to write this?

So she accepted the invitation to an Asian American society? Oh the dramas to come.

June accused Athena for using her Asian face and ethnicity as a cultural capital and sets herself up as a representative of Asian countries (e.g. Korea), then I am thinking, isn't it what R F. Kuang has been doing (or accused of doing) in her career all along?

I just can't shake off the feeling that Kuang was defending herself and her writing through June's literaturing her critics and talking down at them.

So you can enjoy success but using the social media, but the critics and reviewers who gave negative reviews for your books are losers and nobodies?

The joke isn't all that funny when it comes from a best selling autor.

June, the fictional white female author in Kuang's Yellow Faces, in an attempt to please readers and appear knowledgeable about Asian issues, posts on her social media about Xinjiang, "Stand With Hong Kong," and protests against the CCP.

This made me wonder, has Kuang herself ever spoken out on Xinjiang, Hong Kong, and Taiwan's behalf? Because I have heard nothing about it!
