Having read Sartre, I disagree, but it's an interesting thought.

He is in polemic with Descartes and the empirical tradition on the other side. I do not agree with everything what he claims. It is fair to say that for many things I just miss enough knowledge and the context. But I tend to agree though that without embodiment the existence of consciousness is unlikely. He has convinced me on that though it was relatively easy:-)

I also don't have so much knowledge about the earlier philosophy (it's what happens when you're self-educated). I do agree about the embodiment.
