I like the parallel of the “mother’s voices” in this. Instead of Norman Bates famously hearing his own mother’s voice (technically voicing it himself), Emily keeps imagining her late mother’s words ringing in her head giving her advice on what to do.

Actually idk it could be either, the POV I’m talking about is in 1st person so you’re hearing more of her thoughts and it’s easier to say random stuff like she does in 1st person. The other POV is in 3rd person so we don’t really have as much “thought fluff”
