Idk, this one’s just not really doing it for me. It’s so slow and kind of feels like it’s taking itself too seriously? It feels like it’s trying too hard to be a “grown up” fantasy book and the result is just a book that lacks any hook. Even climactic scenes just feel like nothing because they’re so rapidly drowned out by a whole load of nothing

So far so good, but the chapters are so long that it’s making reading it off putting. I can’t just pick it up and read for 20 minutes, I have to commit to an hour each chapter.
