This 3rd second was a little hard to get into because it started from such a different place from the previous two, but by the end I was really impressed and excited. This is a really great book so far.

I love starting long books with a bang, so I read the entire first book of 2666 in a day. It's a great way to start this book in particular. I love the characters and way Bolano keep the pace up by switching between character plotlines. I'm also happy to see that each separate book isn't completely detached from each other.
