So great to finish out just this book once I finished EOS tandem read. I’m glad I did it so I didn’t lose steam!!

Final battle was somewhat anticlimactic compared to like the ENORMOUS BATTLE SCENES of book 5, but I loved that in the end, Yrene made it all possible. I got chills seeing the army that they’re bringing to Aelin’s aid

“What if we go on, to more darkness and despair?”
“Then it is not the end.”
That those words brought him out of darkness, from 3 books ago, from a time when Aelin’s inner queen was just shining through, as he finally stopped hating her…

Also when Sartaq was sucked away out of Nesryn’s hands I almost passed away. What if in the end, Nesryn’s the one who raises the army?

GAH Yrene/Chaol is the only enemies to lovers I enjoy!! They bring out the fire in each other because they both care so deeply and feel safe around the others to express themselves!! We love to see a man groveling especially when it leads to her bullying him into kissing her

They’re in the honeymoon stage now Sarah will inevitably rip them apart in some terrible way

Excellent dungeon crawl / spider battle - 5 stars!

The tandem read commands that I now read the next 18 chapters of Empire of Storms, so we’re leaving Antica behind for now. Bye Chaol :(

I tandem read the books for 5 full hours last week on the plane and read 350 pages on my phone. blissful

Tandem reading is crazy bc why are the transitions so strong between chapters in different books. It’s almost like she wrote them in parallel too

I was doubtful about the new setting but Antica is very pretty and fun

I feel like I’m far enough into the books now there’s really not much I can say to spoil. I don’t remember what’s next. Uncharted territory
