Finished reading Chapter 3 of The Mist, where a routine shopping trip turns into a living nightmare when the mysterious fog traps a group of shoppers inside, leaving them fearful for their lives.

Now here’s where things get intense, sure it’s a slowburn and a big case of tell not show, but I do appreciate how the horrors throws everyone off guard and really lets their fear take over.

Finished Chapter 4, where Dave and the other shopper tries to fix the generator, only to discover a horrific sight.

Alight, now I know that this book has hints of Lovecraftian horror when it comes to the creature designs, and I appreciate the terror the characters feel being impressively realistic in its atmospheric design. I highly recommend this story to fans of slow-burn horror

Finished Chapter 2 of The Mist, where Dave, Norton & Billy go shopping for groceries.

Ok, am I the only one feeling the the real horror doesn’t actually kick into high gear until the 2nd act of the story, because this is kind of a slow-burn horror from Stephen King.

Onto chapter 2 of The Mist, where the storm has come and gone, but the damage is still around, even the neighbouring tenant, Norton, is having trouble clearing the damage. Yet there is a foreboding presence that will soon take hold.

This tension is ramping up as the titular mist is waiting for the right moment to strike. Also, nice knowing you Steff. What horror will lurk in the mist? We will have to find out.

Started reading Stephen King’s Skeleton Crew short stories. First up is The Mist, which follows a family of one who find themselves up against a foreboding mist. The first chapter features them trying to survive a massive storm.

Looks like this story is off to a good start. I’m not sure if the storm will have a bigger bearing on the plot, but something at the end is obviously foreshadowing to the biggest danger.
