Watkins makes the error of thinking that making characters go through compounding traumatic experiences is the same as having real tension and character development.

Every single character in this (and there are many) is a miserable, evil sex offender or a directionless victim who enacts their harm onto others.

None of the characters have a discernible motive. Will finish this and then say more.
