I feel like there's too much stuff going on. Murder mystery, ghosts, the spooky door in the cave, balls, and now the competition and threat of arranged marriage. Unless it all ties together really well at the end (although this is a trilogy so maybe not.) I'm sure certain elements will feel unfinished.
My money is on Fisher though. Kill the sisters. Marry one of his childhood sweethearts. Get the estate. Profit.

I was not prepared for the level of ghost story this book was. Not complaining.
