Of course I know that this is a real diary, but sometimes I still have these moments where I almost forget that what I’m reading isn’t fiction. I could never forget how horrific and real the war was, but because the everyday routines, conversations, and dynamics sometimes feel so much like something from a novel. It's such an incredibly powerful and affecting story

Im so greatful they kept things like the end of the entry of the 6th Janurary 1944, because even though I get why some things would say they should have been cut out for her privacy, I think it's also good they were kept in because they show her thoughts and experiences: its a Diary.
