Ok, I succumbed [ white flag of defeat ]
So far, the story is more farcical and over-the-top, in-your-face than I expected. I am taking it as such, I don’t expect a sound plotline or a touching story here. I am going to read as far as I can to see how bad the train-wreck gets — wish me luck !!

All of her stuff is OTT. I think that's why people like it. Everyone is good and rich and the bad guys either get redeemed or their just deserts.
I believe plotlines like this are written by authors who secretly hate P&P and think Austen’s world is flawed, hence the need to up-end it so dramatically (!!!).I am mesmerized by the unbelievable concentration of titles around the Bennets (their grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins include Dukes, Marqueses, Earls, and Viscounts !!!), and how they insist they don’t care about connections at all, hahahah !
