70% of the way through this but it’s so somber in a…world weary? Tired and sad way? I don’t know if I can finish it. Some characters are interesting so it’s a pity that their presentation is kind of difficult to wade through.

This whole story being told in past tense puts it at too much of a remove for me, so far. Even in the context of flashbacks, I want to hear conversations and actions presented in the moment.
