The morning after, Den drives to Cass’ to collect $her dad owes her. The silence feels wrong. A stranger appears:Shaney, w an intensity that prickles Denorah’s skin.

Shaney says Gabe bragged about her, then calls Den onto the concrete slab for a quick one-on-one. Den needs to save her legs her game, but curiosity pulls her in. Her dad’s truck flashes like a warning she ignores. They square up. The game is on.

Aftermath is misread signs. The person Cass shot is not Den but Nathan in an inside-out jersey. Elk Head Woman steps from margins offers Gabe the rifle. The reckoning for elk massacre has arrived &bargains: he’ll kill himself if she leaves Den alone. Agreeing, intending to break promise. In a final gesture of their bond, Gabe uses Cass cold finger to pull the trigger, finishing the four&completing her vengeance.

Ch15 perspective shift to the reborn elk head woman.
Ch16 Deborah looks out of classroom window,a girl in her own workout clothes, standing in the shadows. A supernatural double.
Ch17 Gabe drives by Ds school,spots a teenage girl in gym shorts, bare-legged in the cold. He slows, thinking it might be his daughter, but her stare locks his bones. He floors it, shaken by the entity that has now set its sights on him.

Peta dies falling from ladder while trying to help Lewis with the ceiling fan/light fixture. She falls hits her head on the fireplace. Lewis’s reaction is delayed even examines her the same way he did w Shaney (teeth) and Lewis realizes afterward that she was carrying his child. Lewis is holding the elk calf, daughter of Elk Head Woman. He’s become emotionally attached to her. He is shot by four men in the end.

Lewis’s paranoia goes onto Shaney. The idea that she may be this elk head woman. disguised as a human. His fear and paranoia finally take over, and he kills her.

The disturbing part is that it leaves you questioning whether Lewis actually killed the supernatural entity or whether he murdered an innocent woman because his guilt and paranoia drove him to believe she was the monster.

Lewis’ paranoia on Peta possibly being connected to this elk spirit is intensified. You really see how Lewis feels uncomfortable in his own home when he hears something come up the stairs and tries to catch the reflection or when he eats his food at the kitchen sink because the messed up light and ceiling fan scare him.

Lewis tries to fix a spotlight. Climbing a ladder beneath a ceiling fan. When looking down the fan blades, he suddenly sees: a dead elk lying on his living-room floor. Recognizing it as one he killed 10 years earlier. Its eye suddenly opens and blinks, terrifying him, causing him 2fall. Wife Peta arrives at the right moment & saves him from hitting the brick fireplace.
