It was ok. Too many info dumps for such a short novella, on the plot and the characters. Giving lots of emotionless details on someone does not give them depth.

Definitely an in-between filler that needs the first full novel to make sense. We experience how Jonad and Mac become partners in the Tabak Institute and how they settle Angel into her enclosure. Yes, there is a body count.
