Finally back to reading and it seems that I didn’t think much of Denver as a character. OOPSIES, it does make sense to be traumatized by your mother…my bad. I understand her now

Peaceful…OR IS IT? Terribly depressing actually. Horrifying if I think deeply about it which I should.

PART 1 DONE! I don’t know if it was Morrison’s intentions, but was Sethe really in the wrong for what she did? Perhaps…BUT I SIDE WITH HER I think. I’m pretty sure I do. I’m glad that I picked this one to read because even though I’m not knowledgeable enough to describe the way Morrison writes I do feel it! I DO.

Steady progress is being made. Denver is obsessive over Beloved. Beloved is being spooky and scheming. Sethe, at the moment, is vibing. Paul D…I was onboard with him when he was planning to apologize and ask for help, but then he had this wild idea that made me stare at my screen like …what?

14?!?19?!? Good Lord, the journey and life has been tough for her.

Because I was so suddenly thrown into this world, I have to take longer to read the words and trust in my ability to see the overall picture. Denver’s part confused me. Sethe and Paul D’s parts are easier for me to get, but I can’t comprehend how terrible their trauma really was. I am curious about Paul D’s time in Alfred, Georgia. I also wonder how Denver’s supposed good luck will play in the future.

The year of unfinished books and starting new ones regardless. It was hard to settle into the rhythm of the book, but I was able to get into it with the first chapter.
