A friend & I went on a trip to the Zugspitze with our dogs:

We stayed in a small town called Grainau, then hiked to places like the Windebeutelalm (Windbeutel = pastries, Alm = wanderers' hut; it's famous for enormous ones):

The highlight was going to the Eibsee though:

It was my dog's first trip (he only turned 15 weeks old this past Saturday). Since we couldn't go to any other country on account of the rabies shot only being valid as of Sept 3, we originally wanted to go north to the Baltic Sea. However, that would have taken 8-10h one way and that was way too much for just a few days (my friend doesn't have more vacation days left). So we turned towards real mountains. Sure, we from the Black Forest know "mountains" and forests but Bavaria has MOUNTAINS, as you can see.Sadly - or maybe not - we didn't take a gondola up the Zugspitze because it was way overpriced, even my puppy would have had to wear a muzzle (he's not yet trained for that), and the weather up there turned out to be rainy/cludy anyway. We had glorious weather on our hikes and on the lake though so that turned out to have been the absolutely right choice.

They are practically satellite dishes. *lol* I keep calling him dobby but the trainer also has a picture of him with a chew toy on his mouth that made us both think of Humphrey Bogart so she made a funny meme out of it:

And yes, I can never get over how much he grows - it's noticeable even when you see him every day! My trainer saw him last week on Wednesday and then again this evening and she was shocked. *lol*
